The Vascular Surgery Research Group consists of both clinicians and laboratory researchers. We are embedded in a busy, world-class clinical unit. Major interests include peripheral arterial disease and associated impaired wound healing in patients with diabetes, as well as aortic aneurysm. We work with basic biomedical researchers to discover new mechanisms for these common and serious conditions, as well as new treatment strategies. We also run active clinical trials of both pharmacotherapy and new interventional techniques to improve outcomes of our patients based on new discoveries and developments in the field.
