Our mission is to translate neuroscience research discoveries into better treatments and diagnostic procedures for patients with neurological disease. We are committed to advancing the understanding of the neurodegenerative processes involved in diseases that affect the nervous system, including Mitochondrial disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other movement disorders.

Our research program unites the efforts of clinicians working at Royal North Shore Hospital and basic science researchers at the Kolling Institute, ensuring that our research discoveries are made and translated into the clinical setting as quickly as possible.

Using cellular and molecular approaches, we focus on the identification of mechanistic causes of neurodegeneration with the ultimate goal of identifying therapeutic targets to develop new treatments for these diseases.
